Board Correspondence

Published: September 29, 2025

Over the past several months, the Board has received repeated reports and observed ongoing issues of misuse and abuse at the community sports courts. Despite previous reminders and enforcement efforts, these problems have continued and, unfortunately, have created safety concerns, damage to property, and disruptions for responsible residents wishing to use the facilities. While Fate DPS had assured us that they would be enforcing trespassing violations properly, this has not proven to be the case. We are escalating the matter to the City Manager and hopeful for a stronger response from public services regarding our association’s private property.

After careful consideration, the Board has made the difficult decision to temporarily close the sports courts effective immediately. This closure is necessary to protect the community’s property and ensure that future use of the courts can be both safe and enjoyable for everyone. During this time, the Board will be evaluating potential solutions, which may include higher fencing, revised access procedures, or other security measures.

We recognize that this decision impacts residents who use the courts respectfully and responsibly, and we did not make it lightly. Our goal is to restore access as soon as possible once appropriate safeguards are in place. We will continue to keep the community informed of next steps and updates regarding reopening. We also ask you to remind your children of the sports courts rules and that guests are limited to 2 per household. This area simply cannot accommodate large groups of guests. Furthermore, bikes, scooters and electric versions of these are never permitted inside as they destroy the surface of the courts.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to preserve the quality of our shared amenities.
